Hi everyone, I am Marks wife Darlene and over the last year and a half we have had some major setbacks with Mark’s health. In March 2021 he heart surgery, April 2021 he had his toes amputated on right foot. Just as he was feeling better and returning to work his job title was eliminated and although he was entitled to EI it wasn’t very much due to previous year and all the sick time he was off. In April of this year we noticed major swelling in both legs and started to address this issue, in July we were told that Mark’s kidneys were failing and he would need dialysis. Then end of August he got an infection in his heel bone and they tried to save the foot by doing surgery but we just found out a few days ago this didn’t work and he is now in hospital awaiting amputation below the knee.

I am now faced with needing to build a ramp, making the bathroom wheelchair accessible, widened door ways and who knows what else. He will not be able to return home until this is completed.

Unfortunately I myself have not been working full time while trying to care for Mark. I am going to have to take time off again to care for him.

We have applied for the disability benefits but this process can take months.

After this hurdle we face dialysis.

Any financial assistance we can get we can get would be greatly appreciated.

First is getting the home modified.
