Hey it’s Jacq, Mark’s daughter.
Wednesday April 6th my dad Mark Crum, boarded a tour bus to play in Tampa, Florida. By Thursday he was admitted into the hospital with chest pains,shortness of breath and very weak. He dropped his bass on the back of the bus and fell to the couch. Unable to go on much more. His trusted friend and drummer got him to a paramedic and then onto an ambulance to Tampa General Hospital. He is still hanging out there. He has undergone a ton of tests and procedures. Along with them shocking his heart back into rhythm and doing a heart cath to see what the issue is. One of the biggest is his heart. He has a valve that will need to be replaced. They told him that it was birth defect that has been making him feel like most of his life not being able to get the proper blood flow through his heart. He is in heart failure and he’s considered critical although they have gotten him stable. Jamey flew mom down and mom and now is having a hard time finding a place to stay after tomorrow due to everywhere being booked and then also expenses being high in Tampa. I flew out Saturday to try to assist all I could and I’m determined to help anyway I can. It’s so hard him being in Florida and not here for me & mom to do more. Not having many resources down there. So I’ve had a lot of people reach out saying they want to help, well here it is. Dads going to be out of work for sometime and will need a lot of assistance. I’m praying he’s back sooner than later but just praying and hoping for a financial break for him so he does not have to worry for a little while.
