In Loving Memory of Mark Cortes

We are setting up this fundraiser for the unexpected and tragic loss of Mark Cortes. He had passed away on Easter Sunday, resulting in a devastating loss of a father, grandfather, and friend.

Mark liked cooking, architecture, and listening to his favorite rock bands. But mostly, he loved his family, more than we all knew. Mark was truly a compassionate, loving soul. He was a good man to everyone across the board. Although he did not have much himself, he always had enough to share and lent a helping hand whenever he was needed. He was also an amazing grandfather. Whenever he had the chance, he would come from Miami to South Carolina to help out his daughter, and to take care of his granddaughters. He always made sure they were happy, well fed, and had the best time.

Unfortunately, the last two years of his life were filled with sorrow and remorse. He had taken an enormous toll when his brother passed away (Jan 25th, 2022), and his mother (June 22nd, 2022) in the same year. He had lost his immediate family members in a short six months time span. On top of his loss, his workplace was unfair to him and gave him a rough time. Because of his surmounting loss, he went back to alcoholism for almost a year and a half. Despite all his trouble, he had still texted, and he had still called. Even through everything he was going through he still took the time to care.

This fund will assist in his funeral, viewing sessions, etc. We want to give him a proper farewell, in the nicest way possible. Any donation will help us reach our goal and will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
