Mark Brown Brain Tumor Medical Recovery Fund

On Friday 3/6/2020, Mark N. Brown had a grand mal seizure at a 24 hour fitness center where he is currently employed as a personal trainer.  He was immediately transferred to Sharp Grossmont Hospital, in La Mesa California. At that time he was alone and still incoherent. He awoke to find himself  in the hospital not knowing what happened to him. He found out when he woke up that not only did he had a grand mal seizure but in addition to find out that the doctors performed an MRI of his brain. He was told at that time that he had a Brain Tumor the size of a baseball located in his Parietal lobe and descending into his Occipital lobe of his brain. These are regions of your brain that are responsible for touch perception, body orientation, sensory, knowing left from right, reading, sight, visual reception/ interpretation and MORE!
The doctors do not know if this will turn out cancerous or not.  Scared and alone he called family to let them know what was happening and the neurosurgeon had scheduled a Crainotomy (to remove his brain tumor) on 3/13/2020. He was immediately placed on seizure protocol and waited for family from Illinois to arrive.
On 3/13/2020, the neurosurgeon removed as much of Mark's brain tumor as possible. He will now have to undergo radiation for the parts of the tumor they were unable to remove. Mark does not have insurance and will be alone after his family leaves California. He will then need home care services to take care of him after his family leaves. Home care will also need to perform the needed physical therapy he needs to recover from his brain surgery which will be taxing as he is still in the hospital fighting.  He will also be unable to drive for a year, leaving him in a position that he will need to rent Ubers or pay people to take him to his doctors appointments and radiation. The tumor has been sent off for biopsy to determine if this will be cancerous or benign.
Mark is a U.S. Veteran of the United States Navy. He served in Iraq during, "Operation Iraqi Freedom". He graduated from Abingdon High School and then went on to earn his degree in criminal justice from the University of Phoenix. After returning home from Iraq Mark pursued a career in personal fitness training.
Mark needs financial assistance during the worst time of his life. Mark does not have insurance so his surgery, labs, imaging and hospital stay will all be out of pocket. His needed home care will be out of pocket. Unable to work Mark will not be able to pay his bills and possibly lose his clients if he is unable to get the therapy he needs to recover properly. In addition, Mark is still anxiously awaiting the results of his biopsy and will find out these results alone as his family has to return to Illinois.  We are asking for any help you are able to give at this time to help Mark.  Every dollar is appreciated and will help Mark greatly during the worst time of his life.
Thank you and God Bless!
