Mark Bessey Emergency Medical Relief

On Tuesday, August 2nd, my brother-in-law was involved in a single car rollover accident on interstate 8.

 

Mark was intubated on scene and airlifted to a trauma center in San Diego. He sustained severe injuries and multiple fractures throughout his body, including 5 vertebrae, his right hip, right wrist and elbow, right collar bone, right scapula, and several ribs bilaterally. He requires more diagnostic testing, an unknown number of surgical procedures, and eventually, a long road of rehabilitation.

 

Mark is a loving husband to his forever person, Molly, a wonderful father to his three children, and a loyal friend.

 

Mark has spent his career as a firefighter paramedic. He was days away from his next deployment, doing what he loves while trying to save up to buy a home and build a family with his wife.

 

With no current health insurance as a contracted employee and the loss of a vehicle, the road ahead will be long and hard.

 

For those of you who know Mark, he is one of the most resilient people in the world. Without a second thought, he consistently puts others ahead of himself.
