Hello, my name is Jessica Karth (Kraemer). As many of you have seen, the Milwaukee area was hit with a major flood, impacting many families, homes, and businesses. My parents, Mark and Gena Kraemer, were unfortunately one of the many families impacted by the flood. Insurance is not going to be close to covering the damages made by the storm after 45 inches of rainwater rushed into their basement. My parents have lived in their home for 25 years and were unaware of the underground ravine that is located on our road, which caused the flooding of water. My parents have lost many years of memories, collections, and personal work. My mom was a childcare provider for many years, giving back and touching the lives of community members. She has also worked tirelessly on the PTA, even after her three kids were out of the school system. My dad was a mechanic for many years and is always willing to help anyone in need. My dad continues to help the community by maintaining the building of a local school.

As one can imagine, there are significant unexpected expenses that have arisen with this flood. My family could use help raising money to repair damages from the flood that are not being covered by insurance. In addition, money will go to support expenses that arise as the flood has impacted my parents' ability to work due to not having WiFi, loss of a vehicle, and the urgency of removing all items from the basement before mold sets in. Any support would be greatly appreciated, and our hearts go out to anyone who was impacted by this devastating storm. I know that this community will continue to show up for each other in any way they are able. My family and I thank you in advance for any support.

update: money has been going to buying fans, dehumidifiers, and cleaning supplies. We are making some huge headway in the cleaning process and are still waiting for people to assess the damages. We are anticipating will need to replace a decent amount of items. Please continue to donate.
