Marissa’s Light: Supporting the Cadet Family

It is with heavy hearts that we, the Southern Dance Theatre family, come together to support the Cadet family following the loss of our beloved Marissa. Marissa was an incredibly talented dancer, a dedicated Dancers Edge Company member, and a student at Bak MSOA, where her passion, artistry, and remarkable intelligence left a lasting impression. Her beauty—both inside and out—was evident in everything she did, and her energy, spirit, and love for dance touched everyone she encountered. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Marissa's commitment to her craft, her warmth, and her joyful presence made her an irreplaceable part of our community. She was as brilliant as she was beautiful, and her kindness and grace left a lasting impact on all who met her. While we may never fully understand why we must say goodbye to her so soon, we are forever grateful for the time we shared with her and the joy she brought into our lives.

In this difficult time, the Southern Dance Theatre family has come together to organize this GoFundMe to support the Cadet family. We are committed to helping them through their grief and ensuring that Marissa’s memory is honored. The funds raised will assist with funeral expenses and provide the support they need during this heartbreaking loss. We know Marissa’s spirit and love for dance will continue to inspire us, and her memory will live on in the dance floor she cherished.
