Marissa Miracle was involved in a horrific automobile accident on Thursday, March 16. She was driving on McClure Pass in Paonia Colorado. A rock fall had occurred. She hit one boulder, spun around, flipped her van and luckily another boulder stopped her from sliding over the guardrail and into the reservoir many feet below. Probably saving her and her pup Bailey’s life. She was saved by her seat belt, airbags and the grace of God. Bailey was not strapped in and bounced all over the van. Thankfully several passersby assisted her – the area is remote and without cell coverage. She (and Bailey) have pretty bad whiplash and are staying with friends in Eagle, CO. Marissa’s van WAS where she lived, so she has lost her home.
Marissa has been through a lot in the past few months. She recently had most of her personal belongings stolen. As she was rebuilding her life from that, this occurred.
For those who have never met Marissa, she lives on her own in Colorado (with many wonderful friends), is a lover of the great outdoors, music, is very spiritual, adventurous and loves life. Always positive and finding the great things about human nature and the world around us. Her and her dog Bailey are inseparable.
Insurance will probably not cover the full loss of her Sprinter Van – she poured her heart and soul into creating an artful home with her van – she pays for her living expenses mostly by fixing up and selling these beautiful vans with reclaimed wood, mosaics, etc. This, coupled with her stuff being stolen, makes it challenging for her to move forward.
Any funds raised will be used to help Marissa to rebuild her life, to assist with medical expenses, and to help with the gap between what the van was worth and the insurance proceeds. A challenge is that the van is insured for book value which does not include all of the improvements that Marissa made to the vehicle to build a conversion van.
