Help Marissa & Michaels family in this tough time

Hi, my name is Olivia. My good friend Marissas 1 year old daughter Avanni had a febrile seizure back in May due to an infection. Newark sent her home saying it was “unclear if she actually had a seizure or not” and left the ear infection untreated until Marissa could get her into her doctors two days later. Fast forward to Monday, June 6th. Michael was home with his & Marissas 3 daughters. Michael was cooking food for the kids, he went out to check on them and noticed that Avanni was unconscious and not breathing between the couch and the wall. He called 911 and performed CPR, from there the ambulance rushed her to strong. She was admitted almost immediately to the PICU at Golisanos. She’s had seizure activity and “spikes” since Monday. This time not febrile seizures. After multiple blood labs, spinal taps, urine cultures, CT scans, MRIs, XRays etc they can’t seem to find what’s making her sick. Shes had on and off high / low blood pressure, on and off high / low fevers and temps. She’s been in a sedated sleep since Monday. They believe it to be genetic or metabolic and sent out blood work that sometimes goes across the country. They won’t have those labs back until next week. For the time being she’s on 2 sedatives, 3 seizure meds and 2 antibiotics trying to control the seizures and the spikes. As far as answers go, they don’t have very much to go on as of right now, so the length of their stay at Golisanos is unknown. I’m putting this together in hopes we can raise some money to help Marissa & Michael pay their mortgage, other bills, gas to and from Rochester/Newark, any medical expenses that may not be covered by insurance, food & other necessities. Michael lost his job a week before Avanni ended up in the hospital & Marissa works 80+ hours a week for the state which with a sick child in the hospital she hasn’t been able to work.
