Marisol’s Celebration of Life

Donation protected
We’re very sad to say that Marisol passed away Sunday, August 20th, to her very brief battle with cancer.
We want to thank everyone for your generous donations, kind words, and for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. Going forward we will be using any further funds donated towards a celebration of life and a trip up to her home town in New Jersey to bury some of her ashes with her late sister.

Marisol’s Lymphoma Story
Marisol went to her PCP with symptoms that include; shortness of breath, fatigue, high heart rate, loss of appetite and swollen lymph nodes.

After doing an x-ray of her lungs they came to the conclusion she had pneumonia and prescribed her antibiotics and steroids. She then spent the following week on bed rest at home with no relief and seemingly only getting worse. She then contacted her PCP who told her it was time to go to the ER.

After 12 hours of testing, they were certain she had lymphoma, but not yet what kind. She was admitted, hooked up to fluids, and given medication in an attempt to lower her heart rate and raise her dangerously low blood pressure. Soon after, she began getting blood and platelet transfusions.

Week one they did a bone marrow biopsy and a lymph node biopsy to determine whether this was Hodgkins or T-cell.

Week two they put a port in her chest to prepare her for chemo and informed us that this is progressing very quickly with both her bone marrow and her liver are beginning to fail.

We’re now on week four and Doctors are, for the most part, sure this is Hodgkin’s lymphoma. With little suspicion that it could be T-Cell Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, they decided to begin chemo therapy today, August 16th, at a 25% reduced dose due to her liver not being able to handle a full dose.

How You Can Help
We are setting up this GoFundMe to raise funds that will contribute to Marisol’s medical costs and loss of work compensation to maintain her day to day bills. Your generous contributions will not only alleviate our stress, but will allow her 4 children to spend as much time with her as possible and focus solely on her recovery and well-being.

Everything helps, whether it’s a donation, a share on social media, or a thought/prayer (whatever you believe in). We are immensely grateful for your love, support and compassion.
