En esta oportunidad me toco a mí.

¡Hola a todos!

Para los que no me conocen mi nombre es Aristides Carlos Salinas Vargas, hijo único de Marisabel Vargas Calvo. Ella tiene 77 años muchos de los cuales combinó su labor de madre soltera con su trabajo, que fue su pasión, como trabajadora de la estética personal.

Actualmente esta jubilada. Vive en Venezuela y prácticamente está sola, ya que a mí como a la mayoría me toco emigrar. Hasta hace unos días continuaba con su labor en la iglesia local ayudando a los niños con cáncer y a los abuelitos que quedan desamparados, sin casa.

Hoy me atrevo a abrir esta pagina y acudir a ustedes.

Mi mamá necesita una operación urgente: artroplastia de rodilla.

Me atrevo a contarles su historia, sin su consentimiento, y espero que me comprendan y entiendan lo que me motivó a exponerles mi caso.

Hace aproximadamente un mes y medio, ella tuvo que acudir de emergencia a la Clínica Rescarven de Chuao, ya que amaneció con la rodilla muy inflamada.

El 20 de julio fue valorada a través de exámenes de laboratorio y radiografías. La conclusión es que su rodilla esta DESTROZADA.

A ella le habían practicado aproximadamente unos 15 años atrás, una osteotomía varizante de tibia en la rodilla con material de síntesis tipo grapa,la cual colapso y es la causante de todo lo que está sucediendo en la actualidad.

Luego de ir a Emergencia en Rescarven, el diagnóstico fue :un colapso articular, severa artrosis y una luxación inveterada de rotula por lo cual es necesaria una operación. Es necesario colocar una prótesis de revisión en la rodilla y con eso acomodar todas las lesiones ahí sufridas.

En ese momento no entendiamos qué tan complicado podría ser esto y al escuchar la palabra prótesis todos nos asustamos mucho; fue el momento de ir a buscar una segunda opinión en el Centro Médico Docente la Trinidad, donde el traumatólogo especialista en rodilla coincidió con el diagnóstico.

Fuimos por una tercera opinión, posteriormente por la cuarta, en la Clínica Atias, en la Clínica La Floresta con los mismos resultados.

Fue en este momento que me di cuenta que no podría tener alguna otra solución que la artroplastia de rodilla.

A partir de ese momento empecé a buscar Fundaciones, alguna ONG u otras opciones para que me pudieran ayudar a cubrir el costo de la cirugía, pero dadas las condiciones del país fue imposible conseguir ningún tipo de apoyo.

Mi mamá tiene casi un mes y dos semanas en cama. Está muy desesperada aunque se encuentra muy optimista y positiva respecto a su situación.

Tenemos mucha fe que con Dios y la Virgen pronto saldremos de este inconveniente.

Gracias a todos los que nos han apoyado durante este casi mes y medio por todo el apoyo y la fuerza recibida para seguir adelante.

Actualmente están por realizarle los exámenes preoperatorios para ir ganando algo de tiempo y en lo personal estoy muy ANGUSTIADO por la situación económica y la ausencia de seguros médicos nacionales en nuestro país.

El presupuesto de la operación ronda los $25.000 USD con la hospitalización incluida, sin tomar en cuenta la rehabilitación ni consultas posteriores.

Adicional a lo anterior y resultado de la operación los nuevos desafíos económicos son: consultas, exámenes médicos, rehabilitación, equipos médicos y todo lo necesario para su recuperación plena (entre 3 a 6 meses),hasta que pueda retomar su vida y ser autosuficiente suman aproximadamente $3.000 USD adicionales.

¡Por eso acudo a su buena voluntad y su generosidad, cualquier donación o aporte significa muchísimo para nosotros!

Les agradezco infinitamente el tiempo de leer y conocer la situación que estamos atravesando en este momento ¡Lamentablemente no somos los únicos ¡Vivimos en un país en el que ha sido casi imposible poder subsistir sin ayuda.

My mom needs an urgent operation: knee arthroplasty.

About a month and a half ago, she had to go to the Chuao Rescarven Clinic in an emergency, since she woke up with a very swollen knee.

On July 20, laboratory tests and X-rays were done and her knee is SHATTERED.

Approximately 15 years ago, she had undergone a varus osteotomy of the tibia in the knee with staple-type synthetic material, which collapsed and is the cause of everything that is happening today.

After going to the Emergency in Rescarven, the diagnosis was: a joint collapse, severe osteoarthritis and an inveterate patella dislocation for which an operation is necessary. It is necessary to place a revision prosthesis in the knee and accommodate all the injuries suffered there.

At that time we didn't understand how complicated this could be and when we heard the word prosthesis we all got really scared; It was time to go seek a second opinion at the Centro Medico Docente La Trinidad, where the knee specialist traumatologist agreed with the diagnosis.

We went for a third opinion and later for the fourth at the Atias Clinic, at the La Floresta Clinic with the same results.

It was at this moment that I realized that she could not have any other solution than knee replacement.

From that moment I began to look for Foundations, some NGOs or other options so that they could help me cover the cost of the surgery, but given the conditions of the country it was impossible to get any type of support.

My mother is almost a month and two weeks in bed. She is very desperate although she is very optimistic and positive about her situation.

We have a lot of faith that with God and in the Virgin Mary that we will soon be out of this inconvenience.

They are currently about to perform the preoperative tests to gain some time and personally I am very DISTRESSED by the economic situation and the absence of national health insurance in our country.

The budget for the operation is around $25,000 USD including hospitalization, without taking into account rehabilitation or subsequent consultations.
