Williamson County Illinois Habitat for Humanity has an urgent need for funds to finish construction on a home in Marion and two local businesses have partnered to help finish the build in order for the family to celebrate Christmas in their new home.

You may also donate in person at Black Diamond Harley-Davidson on the Williamson County Parkway, in Marion IL.

Marion resident Chris, his wife Leslie, and two their two young daughters were chosen to receive the current build in Marion that is in need of funds to complete. Chris is an Army veteran where he served as a mechanic in the motor pool.  Chris did a tour of duty in both Afghanistan and Iraq. To support his family, Chris currently works at the VA Center as part of the grounds crew. He attends school part-time at John A. Logan College in the Industrial Maintenance Associate Degree Program.  Leslie is a full-time, stay-at-home mom. As part of the Habitat requirement, Chris and Leslie must help build their home. To date they estimate to have worked nearly 300 hours on the project. The couple is extremely appreciative of the support shown by the community in their effort to get into a permanent home.  They look forward to a place where their children can grow up, build memories and call a home.

“Chris selflessly supported his country and defended our freedoms.  This is a way for us to now support him and his family!” said Rodney Cabaness, Co-Owner Black Diamond Harley-Davidson.

Mike Absher, Owner of the Watermark Automotive Group said, “I am so thrilled to partner with Black Diamond and our community so that we can show Chris and Leslie our appreciation for their sacrifices and service to our Country! This kind of effort is the very best part about living in a caring community and we are honored to be a part of it!”
