Marion Hampson - Music for Marion

In Loving Memory of Marion Hampson. Marion lost her fight with Cancer on January 21, 2018.

Marion Hampson, loving spouse of Ronald Vaughan and Mom to Scoobie the Parrot had her very private, quiet and fulfilling life turned upside down by a cancer diagnosis just days after her 61st birthday on Aug. 30th this past year.

Within a month Marion underwent a full hysterectomy and had her gallbladder removed. Remarkably Marion's tumor markers all returned to normal and the doctors believed that they had removed 99% of her cancer. On Dec. 6th, just 9 weeks post-surgery and only two days before Ron was scheduled to have his back-surgery Marion started to feel sick again.

Within 2 short weeks it was determined that Marion had a 3-inch tumor in her stomach and due to failing kidney function she is no longer a candidate for chemotherapy.
This disease is aggressive and is devastating. Just 5 short months ago Marion and Ron were enjoying their quiet family routines as Marion doted on Ron by taking care of him while he waited for back surgery for over 2 years. Marion enjoyed spoiling the man she met only 7 years ago but with whom she fell deeply in love. Who wouldn't fall in love with a man who gives a girl 12 dozen yellow roses on their first date?

It is now only 5 months since Ron's beloved Marion was originally diagnosed and she lies in the hospital fighting through the pain of her inoperable cancer.  Being the ever caring and supportive partner Marion is still putting Ron first; apparently she still offers him her apple juice when he walks into her hospital room – always an amazing hostess.

The end is near and so “we” are reaching out to all who love Marion and Ron to help ease the financial burden caused by Marion’s illness and ultimately her imminent passing. The outpouring of love and support has been immense and we truly are grateful. Ron has a few ideas in mind that he would love your support with to help commemorate Marion’s life – most importantly he is going to build a beautiful garden with a bench overlooking Mt. Baker in their back yard. This will be a place for all who are near and dear to Marion to come and share the space. The funeral costs and repayment of accumulated bills during Marion’s therapy will also be covered. No gift is too small and any gesture will be appreciated. We understand that funeral costs alone may be around $14,000 and without life insurance for Marion this will be a hardship for Ron.

Thank you so much for your kind consideration. I’m ending this post with the last text that Ron sent to me because I think it truly conveys his love of Marion and I feel it is so fitting to anyone who is reading this message. He said, “Thank you, for <letting> me tell you about my precious Angel.”

Ron Vaughan is set up as the only recipient of funds from this Go Fund Me Account. As a friend of Ron and Marion I set this up for them however I will have no access to any withdrawl or any financial information. Ron will be the sole decision maker in regards to how all donations will be spent.
