I have been offered an incredible opportunity through Gardner-Webb’s PA Program to work with a non-profit healthcare clinic called CerviCusco. This organization offers comprehensive medical care for men, women, and children in Cusco, Peru. During my rotations I will be focusing on pediatric and women’s health care. Sadly, the incidence of cervical cancer in Peru is 50% more than the South American average; every day more than 10 women die from cervical and breast cancer alone. Thus, I feel called to help lower these staggering statistics by providing medical care for those in need. While in Peru, I will work with a team to provide preventive health screenings, vaccinations, and treatments to thousands of women and children.
During my 6 week obstetrics & gynecology and pediatric rotations starting in November of 2019, I anticipate transportation, lodging and food expenses to be around $5,000. Would you consider partnering with me in this medical mission? The generosity and support I receive from family and friends is all that will enable me to embark on this journey. If somehow I still have money remaining after my expenses have been fulfilled, I will donate the rest to CerviCusco!
If you are not able to financially contribute, I would really appreciate your prayers for our safety, health and for God to use us in powerful ways. As Matthew 5:16 says “…Let your light shine before others, that they see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.”
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration!
