Mario Smith, Downtown Augusta’s Friend

Mario Le’Derrick Smith was a staple of the downtown Augusta landscape. He was helpful and kind and always had a smile and wave for friends.

At just 46, his life was taken much too soon by tragic means, leaving his surviving family with unexpected expenses. This fundraiser is intended to relieve the financial stress on his family and cover the expenses of his memorial and funeral.

There will be a candlelight vigil and balloon release at May Park on Friday 9/26/25 at 6pm.

His funeral service will be on Saturday 9/27/25 at 11am. It will be held at Charlie Reed Memorial Funeral Home located at 314 Laney Walker Blvd, Augusta Ga. Everyone is invited to attend and the family requests red and black attire in his honor.
