On April 3, we lost our beloved husband, father, and renowned local guitarist, Mario Otero. It was a whirlwind. He went to the doctor with a stomachache, only to find out he had stage 4 cancer in his liver. He was gone within a few days.

While we are grateful that he passed gently and with us by his side, we are understandably devastated by this sudden loss.

My dad was an incredible person. He was a loving father, a devoted husband, a passionate guitarist, and an amazing teacher. He touched the lives of countless people and made friends everywhere he went. His legacy as a guitarist, mentor, and friend will live on in the music he created and the hearts he left behind.
