Help Bring Mario David Coronado Home to Guatemala

Our community is coming together to bring Mario David Coronado home to his family in Guatemala. We urgently need your help.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, September 20th, Mario was on his way to work in Grand Rapids, Michigan, when ICE agents attempted to stop the vehicle Mario was driving shortly before the crash. His vehicle veered off the road, struck a tree, and caught fire. Mario tragically lost his life.

Mario leaves behind a wife and three children—two daughters and a son—who live in Guatemala. His family is now facing the unimaginable pain of losing a husband and father while also trying to raise the funds needed to bring him home.

Mario was a hardworking man who devoted his life to his family. He worked as a drywall finisher and spent his days working to provide for his loved ones. His dream was to save enough money to begin building a home in Guatemala where his family could have a place of their own.

He was a man of faith, an evangelical Christian, and, according to his family, lived a humble life without vices. His greatest priority was his family and creating a better future for his children.

Now, Mario needs us.

His family’s wish is simple: to bring Mario home to Guatemala and lay him to rest surrounded by the people who loved him.

The costs of transporting his remains home are a tremendous burden for a family already facing profound grief. We are asking our community to come together now so that Mario’s family does not have to face this loss alone.
