At 21 years old, you usually never think or worry about losing a parent. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would have to say goodbye to my dad this soon. My father, Mario Coniglione, passed away at 12:10PM on May 20th, 2021 at 57 years old. Due to him contracting COVID-19 in the beginning of April, his ongoing illnesses that he suffered from such as blood cancer, failing kidneys, and polycythemia worsened as he was in the hospital. He also suffered from a stroke while being heavily sedated that ultimately affected both sides of his brain making him unable to move or speak. He was on a ventilator from April 15th until he peacefully passed earlier today. He fought as hard as he could but could not fight anymore. This has been a nightmare for all of us. My dad did not deserve to go through any of this. It happened very suddenly and then escalated all at once. My family has gathered as much money as we can to try and pay for the wake and funeral expenses but it is still not enough. All I want is for my father to be remembered. He was my best friend and did everything in his life for me. He lived his life to serve other people and always made sure everyone was okay before himself. All I want to do is repay him in some way. There is truly nobody like him. Anything will help.
The wake for my dad is Sunday, May 23rd, 2021, at 3PM at Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home in Staten Island, NY. ALL DONATIONS will be going towards any expenses for both the wake and funeral. Anything at all helps. I cannot thank everyone enough in advance. Please continue to pray for my family & I.
I’ll miss & love him forever.
