Marin's 23rd Birthday, A New York Surprise

Please keep this message a secret, and definitely don’t let Marin know!

As you may know, Marin’s 23rd birthday is coming up on December 6. As you also may know, the past two years I have spent trying to one-up my surprises for Marin (two years ago's surprise being the song I wrote for her, Marin’s Theme, and last year being a surprise trip with friends to Dallas). Well, this year I have an idea to surprise her with, but I won’t be able to do it without a little bit of help from people who love her.

MY IDEA:

December 6, I take her to dinner, then have her open a gift of a simple New York sweater she’s been eyeing. I would then give her a piece of paper with a list of people to have her read. I would then tell her those are all of the people who contributed to getting her to New York. We would then leave for New York on December 10 :)

Since she went to New York City 3 years ago, she hasn’t stopped talking about it. Both her and I have dreamed of going, but haven’t really ever been in a good enough spot financially to go. I loved the idea of taking her to New York this Christmas, but, transparently, we can’t afford it. She already has it in her head that we probably won’t go for over a year or so, but I had an idea the other day — if I could get everyone who loves her to pitch in even just a little, maybe we could all afford to buy a trip to NYC. I know this would 100% top any surprise I've given her in the past, so I thought why not try!

Also, I promise if I do not raise enough to be able to take her on this trip that I will return all money to everyone who gifted.
