Marine Corps Marathon 2021 - Run for Ben

Tax deductible

As many of you are aware, the 46th Marine Corps Marathon will be held in person this year on October 31st.  A group of our friends and family will be forming a team and running the MCM or MCM10k in honor of SSGT Benjamin Hines.

Staff Sergeant Benjamin S. Hines, 31, originally from York, Pennsylvania, was killed in action on April 8th, 2019 while conducting combat operations in Parwan Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. Ben had always wanted to become a Marine and lived his life and laid down his life for God, Family and Country. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in October 2006 and had served honorably for 13 years. Ben was assigned to Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and served as a Rifleman, Fire Team Leader, and Infantry Squad Leader. His deployments included Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Freedom Sentinel, Afghanistan. His distinguished career ended in the line of duty after his vehicle was struck by a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device on April 8th 2019. In addition to being a Marine reservist, Ben was also a student and worked full-time as a Cyber Security Analyst for Jacobs. He was also a fan of many things to include Star Wars, Black Rifle Coffee, Juventus & all Pittsburgh sports teams. Ben cherished his time with his fiancee, family & friends, and those who met him were always greeted with his welcoming smile, uncompromising respect, and infectious sense of humor. He was always a selfless individual who put the needs of others before his own. He too ran the Marine Corps Marathon back in 2017, and we will now be running this one for him.

Leading up to the race, we will be fundraising for The Ben Hines Memorial Foundation, with a goal of raising $2500.  The Ben Hines Memorial Foundation is a military nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to offer support to the families of our fallen heroes, our military, and our first responders. TBHMF firmly believes in the core values of Family, Patriotism, Faith, & Education, that SSGT Benjamin Hines exemplified. These donations will be utilized to fund educational scholarships for 2022, and support our families of fallen heroes.  Help us carry on Ben's legacy, and honor all our brave service members who gave the ultimate sacrifice, by supporting our Marine Corps Marathon team. Thank you for helping us honor our fallen heroes & their families whose lives have been impacted and changed forever.
