Margeaux's marathon for Everybody Wins! DC

After a two year delay, I'm training for my first marathon! I'll run the 46th Marine Corp Marathon, also known as "The People's Marathon," on October 31st 2021. I'm using this opportunity to raise awareness and funds for Everybody Wins! DC and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.

I've volunteered for the past two years with Everybody Wins! DC (EWDC). EWDC helps children thrive by building connections through reading. When children share a joyful reading experience with someone who cares, they build the skills, confidence, and curiosity to help them succeed in the classroom and beyond. EWDC serves students in 12 elementary schools across the Washington DC metropolitan area.

Once a week, I visit an elementary school (or sign on to Zoom) and spend an hour reading and building a relationship with my student. This year, I was partnered with a kindergartener and we spent our sessions reading all about sharks, dinosaurs, and animals. It's exciting and rewarding to see my mentee grow her love of reading while also developing as a student.

The race will be a challenge, but raising money for Everybody Wins! DC will be great motivation to carry me 26.2 miles across the finish line. Thank you again for your contribution and support.
