Sometimes some of the closest people are not bound by blood. Marina helped raise me in Dominican Republic and became an integral part of my family for 5 decades. She was always there for my family and now I hope this fundraiser will help to take care of her urgent need.

A little while ago we began to notice some changes. Marina displayed irrational behavior and signs of memory loss. It became very clear that Marina was dealing with something that needed to be addressed ASAP. After many doctors appointments and testing, a tumor was found in her brain. 01/23/24 is Marina's scheduled surgery which will focus on removing the tumor to the best of their ability. There is a long road of recovery ahead and we are all pulling the resources to make sure she has adequate medical care. She does not have medical insurance and the family is getting deeper and deeper into debt. We all deal with our own battles but I hope that we will continue to be able to find it in our hearts to help others in need. Marina is so worthy of this, she has shown nothing but kindness and devotion to my family for many years. She is a wife, a mother and a grandmother that needs the reciprocity now more then ever.
