Ryan & Cody's future
Donation protected
I am Meshell Heelbeck and I am the sister of Marina Sutcliffe.
Marina suffered a lot with physical health issues during her short life. In fact she had 9 seprate physical health issues which she had to take medication for everyday, including having to inject herself. This started 15 years ago but in the last 5 years her physical health deteriorated a lot. She has spent approximately half of every year since then in and out of hospital. Many of these times she has been in the ICU and many times we have been told that she wouldn't make it/that she was moments away from losing her life. She was however a fighter and nothing could keep her down. She kept fighting again and again. If you asked her how she did it she would always say "I have two beautiful boys - giving up isn't an option" - they easily were her driving force for living and she loved them more than anything. Unfortunatly on the 22nd November 2016, at the age of 35 (thankfully at home as, for obvious reasons, she hated hospitals), her frail body had decided it had had enough and finally let her have peace and relief from that suffering.
As I mentioned there was nothing that meant more to Marina than her two children Ryan (14) and Cody (11). Marina was unable to work due to her physical illness and this has meant that she was unable to put any money aside for the boys future.
As many people have asked about flowers or donations, we would like donations to put into a savings account for the boys. Marina hated flowers so it wouldn't seem right to ask for them, but then we had to decide what to ask for donations for! Myself and my mum thought it would be nice to set up accounts for the boys.
The money is going to made available to the boys when they are older and need money for buying their first car, moving into their first home, going to university or whatever else they may need funds for. I think of all the times I have relied on my mum in my adult life and it genuinely breaks my heart that those two beautiful boys will not have that.
All money is going to be divivded between them equally.
We would be so grateful if you could spare whatever you can in memory of Marina to give the boys a bit of financial security that some of us would usually get from our mums. In the words of Tesco "every little helps" - especially as this money will be placed in a savings account that will not be touched for at least 4 years - probably longer.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and donating what you can.
