Marin City School Supply Drive
Donation protected
Hi everyone, we are a group of college students from SFSU and we are hosting a school donation of supplies for low-income kids of Marin City. Each year 15 million American children go to school without access to school supplies, putting them further behind than their classmates. During the pandemic, we witnessed many parents struggling to make rent payments or keep up with usual expenses with many losing their jobs. With schools opening up, we see previous problems arise such as low-income students not being able to afford school supplies which have only been exaggerated by the pandemic.
This is why our school drive is so important because everyone should have the right to a proper education but by children not having access to simple tools to help drive that education such as paper or writing utensils this puts students at risk of falling behind the learning curve and feeling outcasted from their peers. So please if you ever went to school without anything listed on the list below or if you have had the privilege of having these supplies when you went to school please donate today to our cause so that future children do not fall behind the learning curve due to them not having the tools to succeed.
Our school drive will give roughly 70 students between TK-5th grade enough supplies needed to help them get through the school year.
We will be working with the organization performingstars.org to better reach low-income students in Marin City and will be using the money donated to supply kids with:
- Wide ruled Spiral Bound Notebooks
- Pencils
- Colored Pencils
- Crayons
- Rulers
- Erasers
- Pencil Cases
- Pocket Folders
- Pencil Sharpeners
- Hand Sanitizer
- Child size masks
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to anyone who decides to donate!
