Marilyn was the quintessential California girl, who surfed the local waves in Encinitas and Carlsbad. She was a loving mom, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother and wife. Her family was the cherished center of her life.  She and Willie hosted countless BBQs and birthday parties that created wonderful memories. Her Spanish rice and enchiladas were legendary.  She cheered her grandchildren at soccer games and music performances. She loved Christmas and filled the home she shared with Willie with magical Christmas decorations. 

Marilyn was also the truest of friends. She never hesitated to rush to a friend’s side. She could be counted on to be there and get her hands dirty to help. She was also always up for a glass of wine and sharing stories with friends. 

As many of you know, our dear friend Marilyn lost her courageous battle with cancer on May 16, 2018. She never complained. In fact, she remained strong and hosted a wonderful Christmas in December. She left behind Willie, her husband of 50 years. Willie and the family take comfort that Marilyn is no longer suffering and is at peace. 

Her love of friends and family is her greatest legacy. It’s our turn to help Marilyn by supporting her family.
