On Tuesday evening, we lost our beloved grandmother, Marilyn Louise McCarty (82 years).

Not only did Marilyn love her family immensely, she built the family and held it together like glue. She shaped our lives by showing up for every moment that mattered and filled her home with warmth, even during the hardest seasons of life. Her door and heart remained open to anyone who needed love and she didn't reserve this kindness only to our family, but to anyone who walked into her life. Her generosity and love was unconditional and deeply felt by anyone who was lucky enough to experience it.

In light of Marilyn's passing, we are leaning on the kindness of others as we navigate this heartbreak.

We would love nothing more than to give Marilyn the beautiful remembrance as meaningful as the life she lived, but we are facing a financial reality that we cannot take on alone. Marilyn devoted her life to giving and we are asking for help from our community to help give her a meaningful farewell in return.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations towards funeral expenses, so that we may lay her to rest with the same grace, love, and dignity that she displayed throughout life. Any amount truly means more than we can express.
