Marilyn M McCort, DVM Memorial Fund

It is with extreme sadness that I announce the passing of the love of my life, Marilyn M. McCort, DVM. She died suddenly and tragically on April 12, 2023, after a brief medical event. She was 59 years young. She impacted the world, as well as all the creatures in it, in many very positive ways. Her love of and unselfish devotion to veterinary medicine benefitted everyone who came under her loving care.

 

Born in Barberton, Ohio in March of 1964, she loved animals from an early age. Marilyn was born to her mother, Martha Gormley (nee Austin) and father, W. Robert Gormley and raise with her 3 brothers and 1 sister S. In 1987, she married me, Kenneth J. McCort, and we settled on a small farm in Doylestown, OH. There we cared for many animals, most of them adoptions that did not work out in other homes.

 

Even in death, Marilyn continued her giving ways by donating her organs so others could live a more meaningful life. It was a pleasure and honor to have spent 40 years knowing Marilyn and 35+ years living with her as my wife.

 

I have started this Go Fund Me page to help me continue our mission to benefit animals and for me to be able to keep functioning on our farm. Any amount is appreciated as Marilyn was our primary means of income especially after COVID devastated my business which is helping people with behavior and training concerns with their companion animals.

 

A celebration of her life is in the planning and details will be published on FaceBook when they are finalized. If you can, please plan to attend and help share with everyone the pleasure you felt having Marilyn in your life.

 

Keep Marilyn’s memory in your hearts, as I will, and continue to keep your friends and animals close. Life is too short and we never know when our and our animals' time on Earth is up.
