Hello, my name is Nick. This is concerning our little girl, Marigold. Marigold is a 8 year old Pit Lab Mix that Sarah began fostering from Delilah’s 2nd Chance Rescue about 4 years ago, but soon fell in love with and adopted. Delilah’s saved Marigold from a kill shelter where she was on death row and very scared and had too many needs for the shelter to accommodate. Marigold was abused before being surrendered by her previous owners and has PTSD and anxiety, but has come so incredibly far and grew from a very scared dog to an extremely silly, happy, and loved doggy with love and help from her new family. Marigold has brought so much joy to not only her family’s lives, but everyone that she has come into contact with. Her smile is one of a kind and she is a gentle soul. She has developed 2 Mass Cell Tumors on her legs. Prima Vista Animal Hospital diagnosed the tumors as cancerous and they need to be removed ASAP to give her a chance at bouncing back to her goofy, playful self. Marigold’s surgery is scheduled for Wednesday 10/25/2023 at Prima Vista Animal Hospital, with Dr. Martinez. Marigold’s family has fallen on hard times the past year, first- getting hit by a drunk driver in a motor vehicle accident, resulting in lost wages for both of Marigold’s parents due to their injuries, followed by Marigold’s dad getting diagnosed with late onset type 1 diabetes and being hospitalized. Because of this, Marigold’s family needs help covering her medical bills, follow-up visits along with Marigold’s aftercare, which will be necessary since the tumors developed very suddenly and are seeming to be aggressive. This surgery will prevent the cancer from spreading to Marigold’s lymph nodes and vital organs. Marigold is a middle-aged pup, but she has more life to live and is a fighter. She has acted like herself the entire time aside from being more sleepy, so we truly believe she has a chance to recover and live a healthy, happy life with her family. We won’t quit on her even though we don’t have all of the funds ourselves currently. This breaks our heart, and is our worst nightmare.
