Marietta is terminally ill from cancer with a Do Not resuscitate order, so therefore in terms for her insurance she is now receiving "Palliative care" which means only to keep her comfortable until her transition. The insurance company does not want to pay for palliative care at the Patuxent River Rehab where she is and she will have to go back home, the longest she can stay at the Rehab is through January 3rd and might go home sooner.
The family urgently needs funds as soon as possible to help pay for hospice care and palliative care in the home.
You could also help by identifying any free hospice care in the area.
All funds donated will go toward Marietta's care. Her husband, Jeff Gittens, is the person authorized to withdraw the funds donated, since Marietta is too incapacitated to do so herself. Jeff is receiving expert advice regarding how to maximize use of the funds for Marietta's care, e.g., determining to what extent free care is available, etc.
