Honoring Marie Spreen’s Last Wishes

My beloved mom, Marie Annette Spreen, peacefully passed away this morning, October 8th of 2025, after a difficult battle with Alzheimer’s disease over the past three years. Unfortunately, she was unable to maintain life insurance or secure a burial plot, and her medical condition has placed a heavy burden on our family.

As her primary caregiver, I’ve been devoted to supporting her throughout her illness while also raising my three small children. Now, with her passing, I am responsible for arranging her funeral and honoring her last wishes, which has been both emotionally and financially overwhelming.

One of her final wishes was to be laid to rest in a light blue casket — a color that perfectly reflects her gentle spirit and vibrant heart. We want to honor that wish as part of celebrating her life.

I am humbly asking for your support to help cover the costs of her funeral. Any donations will go directly to these expenses. Additionally, any remaining funds will help my brother and me cover the income lost during the time we’ve had to take off work in the past days — caring for her in her final hours, managing funeral arrangements, running errands, and sorting through her belongings at the assisted living facility.

I wish she had been able to prepare these things beforehand, but now we are doing our best to honor her memory and provide a respectful farewell.
