Marie B. St. John Scholarship Fund

Our beloved Marie was an educator for the Volusia County School Board for 21 years. She spent the majority of her tenure as an Osteen Elementary School Bronco. She wore many hats during her tenure from Co-Facilitator of the Extended Day Program, VCS Summer Camp Counselor, and as a Paraprofessional in the Exceptional Student Education and Speech Departments. She truly enjoyed spending time with children, telling them stories (and listening to theirs), and also teaching them how to do arts and crafts. She was an advocate of the youth and for their educations. Marie was always able to nurture the imaginations and needs of children to bring out their best. The goal of this campaign is to establish and dedicate an educational scholarship in her name. The scholarship will be awarded at the end of the school year to a student graduating high school seeking a higher education degree in Elementary Education. She strongly believed in paying it forward and we would like to continue the legacy of paying it forward, in her name. Every little bit helps, even if we fall short of the goal we know she would smile down on us for helping someone achieve their goal and dream of becoming a Educator.
