Amazing Mom in need of help

My step-daughter, Maricruz, is an amazing woman, mom, sister, daughter, and so much more. Maricruz has worked hard through many tough challenges in her life. Mari moved to the US from Mexico when she was 8 years old. At 13 years old her parents separated. Being the oldest of 4 siblings at the time, a lot was put on her through this difficult time. At 15 years old she unexpectedly got pregnant. Due to a difficult pregnancy, she was forced to drop out of school. Mari gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy, Manuel, who I am proud to call my grandson. She took on the challenges of being a teen mom and has turned out being a fabulous and successful Mom and young woman. Although she has struggled with anxiety and depression the last several years, she managed to go back to school and complete her degree. She married the love of her life and father of her precious son. Last September her family was struck with an unexpected tragedy when her husband was deported to Mexico. This left Mari without her best friend and raising her son alone. Her and Manuel moved in with myself and her father, so that she could get her feet on the ground. As you can imagine, life has been anything but easy. On February 19th Mari had reached an uncontrollable feeling of hopelessness and attempted to end her life. She talked to her husband that day and he immediately knew that something was wrong. Since he is in Mexico, he just started calling anyone he could think of to get over and check on Maricruz. Her sister left work and came home to find Mari incoherent and empty pill bottles near her bed. We rushed her to the Emergency Room where she was taken care of medically. Once she was cleared medically she was transferred to a Behavioral Health facility for psychiatric care. Mari was able to spend a week at the facility getting the care that she so desperately needed to get herself back on her feet. Since getting home this week, Mari has been setting small reachable goals and taking a step at a time. She is facing many upcoming challenges as she catches up on bills, has bills coming in from the hospital stay, looking for a new place to stay for her and her son, and being sure that she is keeping herself healthy and happy. As she faces these challenges, I am reaching out to ask for contributions to assist her with the upcoming medical bills. It is a lot as a single mom to make sure that your bills are paid on time, your child is safe, has what he needs, and is happy. Mari works full time and looks forward to furthering her education. Manuel is now in Kindergarten. He loves his mom more than anything in the world. Please consider helping Maricruz by relieving the stress of paying medical bills. If you are unable to help financially, please share this with as many people as possible. Any extra funds raised will go towards Maricruz being able to take a trip to Mexico with Manuel to see her husband and mother. Thank you all for your support!!
