I am reaching out to you on behalf of my dear friend Maricarmen Solis and her family.
I met Maricarmen at work and we quickly became friends not just co-workers. She is one of the most kind, caring, giving people I know. She is always helping others and putting others before herself. Now she really needs us to help her!!
About 3 weeks ago Maricarmen became sick after caring for her mother. She was diagnosed with COVID 19, pneumonia, sepsis, and a blood clot in her lung and was hospitalized in the ICU in Zeeland. The doctors did all they could to try and help her. She continued to fight daily just to breath. She spent about 20 hours a day laying on her stomach just try to breath.
With many treatments she was able to fight the low blood counts, getting a blood transfusion. The pneumonia and blot clot. However, all of this and COVID was too much. Her lung sustained heavy damage.
Due to this damage and her daily struggle to breath she was placed on a vent to allow her body a chance to rest and her lungs to heal. She was then transferred to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
She is current still in the ICU on a vent. The last few days we have seen some positive changes. We are hoping and praying this continues.
Maricarmen has a beautiful family that isat home praying and worrying about her. She has 4 beautiful children who her husband is home caring for currently. During this crazy time of COVID they are not able to be by her side. Her youngest child is 5 years old and really misses his mom.
We do not know how long she will be in the hospital. This could cause a great stress on her family financially. She may have medical expenses that insurance does not cover. She is not at work to provide for her family and her husband is caring for their children.
I ask you to please continue to pray for her and her family. I also ask you to please donate to her and her family any amount you are able. All money donated will be used for medical expenses and to provide for her family.
