Marissa Romero Garcia aka Maribel Romero Garcia is the beneficiary of this fundraising event. Marissa is a dear sister and beloved aunt to us. She resides in the Philippines.
Your monetary support is crucial to our efforts to have all her medical treatments be given to her on time. The monthly cost of her medical treatments is close to P250,000.00. She is to receive all treatments for six months. P250,000.00 in Philippine Peso is equivalent to $ 5,000.00.
On May 27, 2020, she was transferred to the National Kidney Institute located at East Avenue, Quezon City from Makati Medical Center, Makati City Philippines. On May 28, 2020, she underwent Bone Marrow Aspiration Biopsy. Impression from it is chronic kidney disease secondary to multiple myeloma. Multiple Myeloma is a cancer of plasma cells. She is receiving hemodialysis, chemotherapy on a weekly basis with blood transfusion as needed. In her case, blood transfusion happens a lot too. The cost of her medical treatments have skyrocketed. Her children have her under their medical insurance thru their employment but already have reached the maximum coverage.
