To all friends, family, and anyone with a desire to help out a beautiful human being. My name is Marisol Gonzalez and I am compelled to help my dear friend, Maribel Alvarez in this difficult time for her and her family. I have known Maribel for over 15 years and she is one of my best friends; I am also her young son’s Godmother.
On June 11th of 2020 Maribel was diagnosed with Stage 2B Grade 3 Triple Negative Cancer. This is an extremely aggressive form of cancer. She has already had surgery to remove the tumor and lymph nodes and is currently undergoing chemo and radiation treatment. This process began in August and she still has quite a ways to go on this difficult journey.
Donations will go to alleviate the financial burdens related to medical expenses and other finances related to missing work due to the treatments themselves. Maribel has been blessed with thoughtful coworkers who have donated their time off pay to her in order to help her with some of this burden. Yet there are some costs that can’t be covered. The expenses of meals for her children when she is too debilitated to prepare meals for them due to the treatments. These treatments are exhausting physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Maribel has always had a generous heart. She would volunteer her time to read to children at schools. She would donate care packages to Midnight Mission and volunteer to help at Autism Walks. She is a loving wife and mother of two. She is also a thoughtful daughter, aunt, and sister to her family. She has constantly been supportive to her family and friends, and to anyone in need that she could help.
During this time of COVID 19 Maribel has been limited to the friends and family that can see her due to restrictions and has become part of the most vulnerable population if she should contract the virus. In these uncertain times I want to support my dear friend in any way I can. So I plead to all of you to help me in helping an exemplary human being. Someone who has given many people so much without a thought of getting anything in return. Please, help me help my beautiful friend; someone who has asked for nothing from anyone else, even in this difficult time.
