Maria's Fight is My Fight.
I remember that FaceTime call. My sister Maria was unusually quite and and announcing that she had some news. My first thought (baby?) and I shouted, Neeeews? She said "Yes, but not THAT kind of news". I sat there wondering, what possible news can she have and look so serious? I never expected what came next. "They found something" she said... The big C was dropped... My world stop, sitting next to my mom wondering... What do I do? I asked my mom to let her speak, as she was visibly, emotionally and physically upset at that point... It was no longer about us, it was all about her now.
You never know when life will take a turn for the unexpected. You built a family, a career and life has other plans for you. In the follow up doctors appointments, we have heared her final diagnosis and prognosis. Contently, doctors are optimistic that after a lengthy, scheduled Treatment Maria should make a recovery.
Thoug the prognosis give us hope, and Maria counts on quality treatment and care from the outstanding oncologist treatment center and Surgical doctors at the Florida Hospital, there will be the reality of medical costs and deductibles that will need to be met annually for the duration of the treatment.
Our big miracle is already the opportunity to fight big C, Breast Cancer. We are never giving up and are so grateful to have the chance to show her how many strong we are rallying behind her because
Maria's Fight is My Fight!
Forever thankful , Monica O.
