Maria's fight against Multiple Myeloma
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jonathan. My mother, Maria, was most recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of multiple myeloma. Multiple myeloma is a type of leukemia, a cancer of the white blood cell.
Over the next year, my mom is going to have undergo very intense chemotherapy and ultimately a bone marrow transplant. Anyone who knows my mom, knows she is a extremely hard working woman who raised two children on her own despite numerous obstacles as an immigrant.
Because of this treatment, my mother won't be able to work for months and this is how she is able to live & survive. She cares for her mom, my grandmother, everyday as well as my 17 year old younger brother in a two bedroom apartment in Union City, New Jersey. My mom is going to need a lot of help, getting to and from appointments, paying rent, and even paying for groceries and food.
My younger brother is doing the best he can, picking up as many shifts as possible at Dunkin Donuts, but we don't want them to lose their way of living. I am supporting her the best I can, spending everyday at the hospital with her, driving her to any of her appointments and just trying to keep her and my own spirits up.
I'm asking for any little bit possible, even if it's just enough so she can get her groceries for the week. Any little bit is appreciated. Thank you so much for reading my story and understanding our hardships right now.
