Maria's Family Needs Your Help
Donation protected
Maria, her husband, and their two children came to the U.S. from Colombia seeking safety and stability. Due to political circumstances, returning to Colombia is not an option. They’ve built a life here, hoping for the opportunity to stay.
I’ve known Maria and her family since the month they arrived nearly five years ago. They are among the hardest working, kindest people I’ve met. Their case for asylum is real and deeply personal. Unfortunately, like so many others affected by today’s shifting immigration policies, Maria’s initial asylum request was recently denied, not because her case lacks merit, but because of the immense pressure and backlog in the current system.
The judge, along with her attorney, has strongly encouraged her to appeal the decision. This fundraiser will help cover the legal costs of that appeal. Without it, Maria and her family would be forced to uproot once again, likely to a third country where they have no home, no support, and no future.
This is a family that has worked hard, contributed to their community, and done everything by the book. They simply need the chance to keep fighting for the life they’ve built here.
If you can support or share this, it would mean the world. Every donation, no matter the size, brings them one step closer to staying together, safely, in the place they now call home.
Thank you so much for reading and for caring.
