Maria underwent an emergency craniotomy late Sunday night to remove a cavernoma in her cerebellum and stop a massive brain bleed. The surgery was very successful and now she is waiting for discharge as speech, physical therapy and her neurosurgeon have approved her for release following a four day hospitalization but have asked her to stay in Miami.
Maria and Meredith are now awaiting a post-opt in Miami upcoming April 17th, and time will tell when they are able to return home to Bend, Oregon.
She has a long road ahead to recovery, taking it easy, and easing back into normal routine, but is in great spirits and has already asked if she can still run the PPP (not surprising, right?).
