Hi, I’m Maria Witcher—a Cass Tech graduate and incoming freshman at Wayne State University, majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Marketing.

I’ve worked hard to get here—balancing jobs at McDonald’s, IHOP, and more while staying involved in media, journalism, and youth advocacy. I earned scholarships and saved everything I could, and I was so close to fully funding my college journey.

But recently, due to unexpected family circumstances, I was kicked out of my home. I currently have no reliable transportation, no job, and now have to cover all housing and living expenses completely on my own. This sudden change has created a gap I can’t fill by myself.

Your support will help me pay for housing, books, and other essentials I need to start strong this fall at Wayne. I’m determined to use my education to amplify voices, tell real stories, and build a future that blends business, media, and purpose.
