Hello, I’m Marianne Barlow. At the age of fifty-eight, after facing breast cancer for fifteen years, I passed from this life to begin my soul’s next journey on April 5th, 2025. I left this world, in my home, surrounded by my dear family, immersed in love.
I was born November 7th, 1966, in Taylorsville, Utah, to Isaac Winford and Dorothy Hancock Barlow. At seventeen, I married the love of my life, Todd Robert Barlow. We were married by a justice of the peace on December 27th,1983, and then sealed for time and all eternity on January 6th, 1984. Our life together has always been full of love and joy. Between 1986 and 1991, we were blessed with our babies, Heber, Thomas, and Marissa. In 1993, we made the big move from Herriman, Utah, to Centennial Park, Arizona. In 1994 and 1997, we were blessed with two more babies, Porter and Aaron.
In 2010, I discovered a tumor, and by 2015, it had become stage four cancer. It has been a difficult time, but I chose to manage my health with natural and emotional healing methods. I’m grateful to have these fifteen precious years to make memories with those I love. Family and relationships are the most important things to me; I truly cherish every moment spent with them. I dearly love all my grandchildren, and I have a special name just for me: Grammy.
I’ve always been passionate about living a healthy and natural lifestyle. I love spending time outdoors, learning about different cultures, costume parties, ballroom dancing, and music—specifically big-band and the Rat Pack. I have a deep faith in the Savior Jesus Christ, and the correct teachings of the gospel. I firmly believe in freedom. I often encourage others to study the history of our country, the principles of the founding fathers, and the Constitution.
One of the greatest joys in my life is helping others; I’ve always had a deep desire to support and uplift all those around me. This led me to assist women in childbirth and study midwifery. I’ve worn many different “hats” throughout my life: cosmetologist, secretary, payroll clerk, tax accountant, office manager, midwife assistant, paralegal, business owner, and mentor; but most important are: wife, mother, and Grammy. I’m honored to be known as the “favorite” aunt by many of my nieces and nephews. I take great pride in supporting and guiding those I love. Throughout my journey, I have learned the value of compassion, gratitude, kindness, and love, and I work to live these values every single day.
I’m survived by my wonderful husband, Todd; my amazing children, Heber (Krissie), Thomas (Sadie), Marissa (Joe), Porter (Ashley), and Aaron (Maggie); my beautiful grandchildren, Riley, Kamri, Asia, Almanzo, Rhett, Wade, and Dakota; my lovely step-grandchildren, John, Jolyn, Nikki, Madi, and Aleena; my mom, Dorothy; my mother-in-law, Bonnie (Gary); my four “other” mothers-in-law; twenty-eight siblings; and many nieces and nephews. I was preceded in death by my dad, Isaac; my father-in-law, Samuel E. Barlow; my “other” mother, Aunt Nette; and my siblings, Levi, Barbara, and Deborah.
I’d love for my life to be celebrated with all who know and love me. Please join my family on Friday, April 11th @10AM(Utah) at the zoom link that follows: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87241876575?pwd=tSbj85UzFsDXgHB5Q2JeUhS77Sj6M1.1
I thank everyone for all the love and support you have given me. I say goodbye to this world with peace in my heart, knowing that my family is strong and that my love for them will live on. I hope to leave behind a legacy filled with kindness.
God be with you ‘til we meet again.
