Marianne Asher-Chapman's Celebration of Life
On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Marianne Asher-Chapman lost her very lengthy battle to cancer. She passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Marianne was a special woman and there will never be another like her. She gave every part of herself to help others even when she was going through her own tragedies.
In 2003, Marianne's daughter, Angie Yarnell, went missing from her home in Morgan County, Missouri. At that time, Marianne was undergoing treatment for cancer.
Four years later, Marianne teamed up with Peggy Florence (mother of missing Jasmine Haslag from Cole County, Missouri) and a local news reporter, Ra'Vae Edwards-Moore, and together they formed a grass roots organization to help families who were going through the same tragedies Marianne and Peggy were going through.
Over the course of more than 16 years, Marianne helped and interacted with hundreds of families across Missouri and many other states. She tirelessly spread the word about hundreds of missing persons, worked closely with victims of domestic violence and human trafficking, and spent many hours speaking to inmates in Missouri prisons about how their crimes impacted their victims.
Missouri Missing has grown into a 501c3 organization under Marianne's leadership and will continue to grow and work with families and victims ensuring that her legacy continues.
In the fall of 2019, Marianne lost the love of her life, Tommy Chapman. The two were inseparable and full of love and life. While we know that she has now been reunited with her precious Angie and her husband, and all of those she loved who left before her, she is and will always be missed by those of us who knew her and loved her.
In Marianne's honor, there will be a memorial and celebration of life ceremony on March 16, 2024 at the Capital Bluffs Event Center located at 1616 Oilwell Road, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
Missouri Missing is working close with Marianne's family to prepare the memorial and celebration of life the way that Marianne would want it.
Anyone who knew and loved her is welcome to attend and enjoy the company of others who loved and adored her. The family will provide two main dishes and asks that others bring a covered dish or dessert.
If you would like to assist her family with the costs associated with her memorial or contribute to Marianne's memorial and celebration of life, you may do so through this GoFundMe or make a contribution to Missouri Missing PO Box 1688 Jefferson City, MO 65109.
