Mariana's Pursuit for Life, Chasing Cancer Away

Our friend Mariana is one of the most incredible people I have ever met. She is a fantastic elementary school teacher, a wonderful friend and a devoted mother of three beautiful children. She's also thoughtful, caring, incredibly kind, and supportive to everyone around her. On June 17, 2020, she was diagnosed with a Stage 4 invasive bilateral lobular carcinoma. Mariana had no idea this was going on while the cancer cells have spilled into her lymph nodes and bones. There weren't many symptoms, just feeling tired like many of us do due to stress from work and our personal lives. The tumors are very large in both breasts now and painful at times. Mastectomy, radiation, and chemotherapy have been taken off the table by the several oncologists with whom she has consulted. 

Mariana has been struggling since she got the terrible news none of us ever want to hear. She's been going through the motions of figuring out what, where, and how from here. She is a 47 year old mom, wife, and a teacher that might not be able to go back to work and having a hard time grasping this overwhelming new reality. She hasn't heard any good news since she found out about this, nor a hopeful prognosis.  As a mother of a 6, 8, and 19 years old, she had no idea that amid the COVID pandemic that she would have to look at her children every day and try to tell them that mommy has gotten something that is making her very sick and she does not feel well. Mariana really wants to help her body and give it a chance to win against these enemy cells.

It’s been suggested that weekly acupuncture therapy can help with her spine that feel as if it's on fire. Her hands and fingers have been very numb over the few two weeks, losing sensitivity, and there are peripheral neuropathy concerns and more tests comping up. There are functional doctors and alternative therapy methods that could help her. Unfortunately, they don’t accept medical insurance. The regular medical field has waved her off in a way, that's entirely heartbreaking. So the only thing left is a miracle, guidance, and wisdom from God.  She prays for a reversal and for special people that He can place in her path to help her along this difficult journey.
