Twin girls, Sierra and Sheridan Popp, were born at 35 weeks via c-section on December 26 after Maria had been hospitalized for mild preeclampsia the week prior. Baby Sierra spent a week in the NICU at Bergan Mercy growing & learning to eat better. She is now adjusting to life with mom and dad. Baby Sheridan was found to have a form of congenital heart disease during the pregnancy. She was sent two days after birth to the NICU at Children’s where she currently is being monitored.
Sheridan is scheduled for surgery the week of January 19th. She has two holes in her heart & a coarction of the aorta. Recovery is expected to be at least a few weeks at Children’s due to this being open heart surgery.
These first time parents have been through a lot and their strong faith in Christ has upheld them! Maria is recovering from c-section & is still being monitored intermittently for high blood pressure. Jordan is carrying a heavy load of supporting his family that has now doubled. Please pray for this family as they learn to care for these two babies away from home, one with an urgent medical need.
