Hi, I’m the mother of four children. My oldest, Mariah Kimberley Acostat she is 16 yrs old , was in an accident on Friday, 7/11/2025. She was riding her bicycle and was hit by a vehicle. On scene, she was transported immediately to Children’s Hospital in Aurora for emergency surgery. She had surgery for a brain bleed, a shattered elbow with a fracture, and abdominal lacerations.

She is a bright teen who loves playing tennis, swimming, and riding her bike. She loves to draw in her free time and had recently picked up reading as well. Mariah wants to become either a lawyer in family law or immigration, or a psychologist for children.

She volunteered very often for her school along with any events we would do at my job at the law firm.

Her recovery is going to be a long road ahead. She is stable as of now but is sedated. She will need more surgeries within the next few days to fix her abdominal wall tears and her arm/elbow as well. She will also need a lot of physical therapy to recover movement in her whole left side, which is not responding. Anything given to help me with my daughter on her long road to recovery is much appreciated from the bottom of my heart. God bless and keep us in your prayers.
