Maria and Rudy Miaco are the most caring and selfless couple you could ever have the fortune of meeting. They both give all that they have with smiles on their faces and never expect nor ask for a thing in return, but no one can prepare for cancer.

Rudy has recently fallen seriously ill and has been in and out of the hospital. He is due to have surgery to remove his left kidney and part of his pancreas. If you've ever met him, you know Rudy is built strong (and stubborn as a horse), but with the seriousness of his condition as it is, he is in pain and Maria is at his side doing the best she can to make him comfortable.

The couple has not been able to work and life, being as it is, keeps rolling on and with it the day-to-day expenses keep adding up. Maria cannot receive any form of FMLA or paid-leave from her place of work and Rudy will not receive disability for another month. As much as Maria would like to continue to work, it is far more important that she be alongside her husband, supporting him with her love and prayers and monitoring his health.

This GoFundMe serves to aid the couple in their time of need with funds generated to help pay for groceries, transportation, bills, and any other emergency expenses that might present themselves while the two are not able to generate/procure steady income.

The Miacos are truly special. They are outstanding parents, insightful and highly-contributory members of the community, and unfaltering in their faith. Cancer clearly goes after the best of us.
