My name is Irvin. I want to first thank you all for taking the time to read about my mothers journey to remission. My mother, Maria Cordova was diagnosed with a rare from of leukemia called Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (M3) on July 10th, 2019. A couple days before, my mother woke up with what appeared to be bruises all over her body which she had none of the day before. She went to the ER where she was told her blood test were very abnormal and would be sent to a hemotologist since the ER Doctor could not make out what was was going on. My mother was treated at French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo where she endured 7 weeks of intense chemotherapy consisting of ATRA and Arsenic Trioxideto send her disease into remission. This was a very difficult time for her, as the side effects took a toll on her body.  Her will power, the outporing support and prayers from friends and family, and the wonderful grace of God helped her persevere through this trying time. Graciously, the Lord blessed her on August 30th when she was released from the hospital having her blood work come back stable enough to go home. Even though the wonderful medical team at the hospital has suppressed this disease, there is still a long journey ahead with maintenence treaments to help keep the disease from coming back. Our family now faces great financial stress from the expensive medical bills to treat this awful condition. If anyone would be willing to bless her and my father with extra financial support, and help alleviate some of these costs we would greatly appreciate any help you can provide.
