Maria Sanchez mother tragically killed by elevator

On tuesday (12/15) afternoon, my mom was just finishing up her shift at work when she had a tragic accident that took her life. 

She was just about to clock out, finishing her work for the day when the elevator she was using malfunctioned and caused head trauma that instantly made her lose her life. 

The elevator that took my moms life was illegally installed in the store she worked at which was Food Emporium. That elevator was not registered and should not have been used by anyone in the first place. Unfortunately, working conditions are often overlooked when it comes to minorities. 

It is so tragic that my mom left everything she knew back home to come to this country to obtain a better life but lost it while doing so. She worked so hard for us to have a roof over our heads and food on the table. 

My mom was so amazing. She was hardworking, caring, understanding, open-minded, so charismatic and so much more. Any one who has ever met her knows how full of life she was. Her smile and laugh could brighten anyone’s day.  Not only was she so strong physically, but mentally as  well. That’s something she’d always tried to teach me to be. 

She was the sole provider not only for my siblings and i, but also my very sick grandma in mexico. I admired her so much because she always had a lot on her plate but somehow always managed to take care of it. 

Unfortunately she leaves behind my three siblings who fully depended on her. My baby sister who is 5, my brother whose 11 and my sister who is 16.  Times are really tough right now for everyone, so the little help that you decide to contribute will be so gladly appreciated. We’re trying to cover funeral expenses as well as other expenses that will be piling up. Please be assure that we’re so grateful with whatever help is given to us. Thank you so much. 


El martes (15/12) por la tarde, mi mamá estaba terminando su turno en el trabajo cuando tuvo un trágico accidente que le quitó la vida.

Mi mami estaba a punto de salir, terminando su trabajo del el día, cuándo  el ascensor que estaba usando dejo de funcionar y le causó un trauma en la cabeza que instantáneamente la hizo perder la vida.

El ascensor que le quitó la vida a mi madre se instaló ilegalmente en la tienda adonde trabajaba, que era Food Emporium. Ese ascensor no estaba registrado y nadie debería de haberlo utilizado en primer lugar. Desafortunadamente, las condiciones de trabajo muchas veces se pasan por alto cuando se trata de minorías.

Es tan trágico que mi mami dejo todo lo que conocía para venir a este país a obtener una vida mejor, pero la perdió al hacerlo. Ella siempre trabajaba  muy duro para que tuviéramos un techo sobre nuestras cabezas y comida en la mesa.

Mi mami  fue tan asombrosa. Ella era trabajadora, solidaria, comprensiva, de mente abierta, muy carismática y mucho más. Cualquiera que la haya conocido sabe lo llena de vida que estaba. Su sonrisa podría alegrar el día de cualquiera. No solo era tan fuerte físicamente, sino también mentalmente. Eso es algo que ella siempre trataba de enseñarme a ser.

Ella era la única proveedora no solo para mis hermanos y para mí, sino también para mi abuelita que está muy enferma en México. La admiraba mucho porque siempre tenía mucho en su plato, pero de alguna manera siempre se las arreglaba para cuidarlo.

Desafortunadamente, deja atrás a mis tres hermanos que dependían completamente de ella. Mi hermanita que tiene 5 años, mi hermano que tiene 11 y mi hermana que tiene 16. Los tiempos son realmente difíciles en este momento para todos, por lo que la pequeña ayuda que decida contribuir será muy agradecida. Estamos tratando de cubrir los gastos del funeral, así como otros gastos que se acumularán. Tenga la seguridad de que estamos muy agradecidos con cualquier ayuda que se nos brinde. Muchas gracias.
