Hello to all our friends and family, 

We have set up this go fund to help raise money for for our mother’s final costs. Our beloved mother, Maria Orantes, recently passed away on Tuesday, March 24th, 2020. Maria was a wonderful mother who touched the lives of those around her with her positive attitude towards life. There is no doubt that her care for people led to her early career as a nurse. She leaves behind us, her sons Daniel and Erik Orantes. Maria dedicated her life to helping others through her religious outreach, to many people in her community as well as by showing gratitude to the ones she considered her family and friends. Maria was a very strong and religious woman who was always willing to give a lending ear for anyone who needed it. She was always there to offer her life knowledge and experiences (such as her nursing career) along with any religious advice that she could offer, to anyone in need. Our mom was an immigrant from Guatemala, who like many, came to the USA to live a better life. She spent a lot of her time here supporting us and being the backbone to our family. Our mother suffered from lupus an autoimmune disease and during these tough times with covid-19 she unfortunately could not withstand the battle. We are all devastated by mom’s sudden loss and were not prepared for the financial burden of a funeral service. We want to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes as best as we can. Mommy had asked for her body to be cremated as her final wishes and so we plan to honor her in that way. My brother and I are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of our mother's funeral services. We know that we, unfortunately during these difficult times, can't hold a normal funeral service but want to reserve and hold a future one so that all our friends and family can pay their respects. In the time being, we do need to pay the high cost of her Funeral services and would appreciate donations of any amount.
