Maria Montesino - I want to be me again.

Maria lost part of her memory after having awakened at the hospital on Friday, January 25.  Maria was working at her second job, a laundry service, when it was robbed on Friday, January 25. Maria was the person at the register when the robbers ask her for whatever cash was in the register. 

Maria doesn't remember much of what happened because she had fainted during the robbery.  Her memory loss was due to the fact that she hit her head on the ground when she fell which may have caused brain damage. 

Maria was allowed to go home but soon returned since she was saying she wanted to kill herself, she didn't want to go on living like this.

In addition to her poor memory, Maria has a difficult time sleeping because she wakes up from terrible nightmares of the event. She wake's  up screaming and has been difficult to handle, it was much like PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  

Maria has been on supervised 24 hour care since being readmitted because of her suicidal thoughts and complications from hitting her head.  She has needed specialized care and medication to calm her. 

Once released, perhaps this week, she will continue to need someone with her at all the times.  She also has to go to therapy several times weekly.  She will be out of work for many months as her therapy continues.

We need your financial assistance immediately since the costs are increasing every day from her medical bills to lost wages and daily needs to help her get better.  Her family may need additional financial support as they have to take time off to be with her and take her to the doctor. With this money we will be able to make sure Maria has the care she needs to return to life fully, just as she was. Her situation is compounded since Maria does not have medical insurance.  

Currently, guests are not allowed to visit her unless you go with Irma, her daughter.  She is still very emotional and continues to struggle with everyday life.  

Maria is a soft spoken and gentle person.  Seeing her like this is extremely difficult and emotionally exhausting, it has left Irma and her family distraught and unsure of what the future will be.
